It's Calamity James and Alexander Lemming! They're characters from the Beano, which is a British comic for all you foreigners out there.
 They used to be my favourite characters back when I used to read it, and my drawing style now is kinda based on Tom Paterson's (the artist) style. Oooh, I do love it so! Also, if there was a Top 10 hardest cartoon characters to draw right, i'm pretty sure Calamity James would be number 1. It took me aaages to get him looking right. Especially THAT bloody SHOE! Seriously, that could be straight out of the Beano. If Mr. Paterson suddenly contracts as chronic a case of bad luck as his subject and becomes incapacitated as a result, you could apply for the post and 99 out of 100 people wouldn't realise it was a different artist.

James was the best thing in the beano, and your style realy reminded me of him when I read your first EOL comic. I couldn't for the life of me remember the name of the character though.
